Lodge Circumspect was instituted in 2010 under core principles of the 1613 Nation , with the stated intention to provide a empowering environment in which Masonic studies were deeply interwoven with the degree work and overall culture of the lodge. We are committed to the idea that Freemasonry, in order to be relevant, must be put into meaningful practice in the lives of its members.

In support of that, we encourage serious reflection and intensive skill development on Masonic traditions as well as other arcane practices. We maintain an atmosphere of fraternal respect, individual sovereignty and general conviviality. It is by means of this sincere and thoughtful fellowship that we hope to understand the Craft in its full historic, philosophic and operative depth.

Circumspect Lodge is a fellowship of Brothers and Sisters devoted to the observance of Post-Modern Freemasonry and united in the conviction that the beautiful ceremonies of Freemasonry are by their very nature conduits for self transformative change. This is complemented by an adherence to the atmosphere and forms that existed at the time during which they were originally developed. Thus, the activities and atmosphere of our Lodge are informed by a close and continual study of the classical phase of Masonic practice. We also adapt our practice to the needs of the twenty first century Freemason. This represents our will in a fluid and evolutionary manner.

The meetings of Lodge Circumspect reflect an initiatic focus and promote a deeper understanding of Freemasonry, as Brothers and Sisters present thoughtful and well-researched papers on the symbolism, history and philosophy of the Order and other traditions. We hold to the belief that true initiation is not simply the act of going through a ceremony but resides in a lifetime of hard work and self transformation.

As guides along the rugged path to enlightenment we take our responsibilities seriously. The focus of Lodge Circumspect lies not in jocularity and mundane activity, but in the deep profound mysteries as exemplified by the nature of Craft Masonry itself.
